MEET THE MUSICIAN
Amanda Lynn
(a mandolin, by any other name)
Lifelong gamer, lifelong musician
By day, Amanda Lynn works in the games industry as a writer and narrative designer. By night, you'll find her living up to her namesake ("a mandolin") making music in her home recording studio.
Amanda started playing the piano and flute at ages five and eight, respectively — which led to a decade as a member of various school bands and regional youth orchestras, eventually earning her a varsity letter in high school marching band and a piccolo soloist role in her senior showcase. Rounding out her musical education, she also sang in a number of choirs and studied advanced music theory.
After college, Amanda started picking up new instruments, and spent the next 15 years teaching herself how to play them. She started to dip her toe into music production in 2020, and in the last year, independently released two singles on streaming services under another musical moniker.
Her released songs have been streamed over 10,000 times across various platforms (not too shabby for a $0 marketing budget!). She's also the cartoony vocals and instrumental production behind a parody pop song collaboration with animation studio EggBug — a musical project that gathered over 200,000 views entirely through organic spread.
Amanda spun up SCATTERDABBLE as a way to realize a long-held dream: to make music for video games. To Amanda, music is the special sauce that suffuses a game with life — atmosphere, character, narrative resonance, mechanical synergy. The storytelling of sound, making moments land. Great game music sticks with you for generations (which is why "Chemical Plant Zone" from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is still stuck in her head 33 years later).
When she's not working on a story or a song, Amanda is apt to be found at an arcade playing Dance Dance Revolution Doubles. She's an enormous nerd for rhythm games.
